As promised in our post yesterday, here comes a wonderful Valentine's Day craft. Compliments of Martha Stewart Living, Crayon Hearts are a simple, yet beautiful decoration that looks best when placed near a window. Sunbeams will color the room with red and pink cheer!
These translucent hanging hearts require two main ingredients: waxed paper and crayons.
Ready, Set Go!
2. Deposit wax-crayon shavings (you can make shavings with a handheld pencil sharpener) evenly across one half of the paper.
3. Fold the clean half of paper over the shavings. Crimp the three open edges with a 1/2-inch fold to hold shavings.
4. Protect your ironing surface with kraft paper and placed waxed paper on kraft paper. Cover it with another sheet of kraft paper and iron lightly on medium heat. Stop ironing when all of the shavings have melted. Let cool.
You can always add to the room with more shapes or even message hangings in various colors!
